Archie Hamilton Drive Confirmed In Autorlando’s International GT Open Squad

Archie will be competing in the International GT Open Championship in 2012 with the Championship winning Autorlando Sport team in the GTS class driving a Porsche 997 GT3 R. The eight round series takes place throughout Europe, starting at the Portuguese circuit of Portimao on 29th April and finishing at the Barcelona circuit in November. Archie’s home race will be the Brands Hatch round in July.

Archie will get his first taste of driving the car as early as next week when he takes part in a private test at Imola. He has already visited the team and had a seat fitting at the headquarters near Milan. Autorlando Sport is masterminded by Orlando Redolfi and has a long endurance racing history. The team has consistently fielded front runners, winning the Le Mans Series in 2006, the GT Open in 2007, and last season finishing second in the International GT Open GTS class. Archie will co-drive with an as yet unnamed second driver.

Archie Hamilton:
“I’m very excited to be starting my first full season in endurance racing. I looked at other series but the GT Open offered great track time and a good quality of teams and competition. Everything just felt right when I went to Milan this week and met the team, who made me feel very welcome and I’m really looking forward to getting started on Tuesday at Imola. I couldn’t be doing this without the support Delaney and Duncan Hamilton Ltd to whom I’m very grateful. I will do my best to get wins and podiums to show that the faith in my ability is justified.”

Orlando Redolfi
“I’m very happy to welcome a young and fast driver like Archie Hamilton to Autorlando Sport. We are very close to securing another young and fast driver as team mate to fight for the International GT Open GTS title with our Porsche GT3R.”
