Archie Hamilton Returns To Racing in Porsche GT4 Sprint Cup

February 11, 2020

YouTube Star Archie Hamilton has announced his return to racing for the 2020 season in the Porsche Cayman GT4 Sprint Cup. The all new championship announced by Porsche Motorsport UK proving the perfect platform for the 29-year-old to return to racing, having been ‘out of action’ since 2015.

Of his return, Archie explains: “I’m so excited to get back in after around 4 -5 years out. I’ve been working away on my YouTube and so on, and this opportunity came up to get back in a seat for 2020, and we just had to take it.”

“I’ve got a great team behind me with Dino (Zamparelli) The Drivers Room and Redline Racing – all absolute professionals in the game so this is huge for me. My following has been built on YouTube as a car vlogger but also as a racing driver, so I’m excited to give back to those that have followed me on this journey and hopefully go and win some races and ultimately challenge for the title.”

The Championship will start at the end of April at Silverstone, as part of the hugely popular British Touring Car Championship (BTCC), before heading to various UK circuits including Croft, Snetterton, Donington and Silverstone again. There will be 6 weekends with 2 races a weekend. 2 of the weekends will be a part of the BTCC package and the other 4 as part of the British GT weekends.

Archie’s return to racing is being managed by successful Porsche racing driver Dino Zamparelli. Dino explains the road ahead: “Archie is a hot prospect. The social media following he has built over the last few years makes him so attractive for sponsors and brands. I have a team that are working on what we’re offering to potential sponsors and brands and we’ll be announcing some really exciting opportunities soon.”

“We have some great brands onboard this journey already, which we will announce soon. And we have things like the Sponsors Club and the Fan Club which are being launched imminently.”

“We can’t wait to get Archie out there now. I know he’ll be fast and competing for wins, and this GT4 series by Porsche will be the perfect platform for us to ease Archie back into Motor Racing as we look forward to a multi-year career path.”

Rounds 1 & 2 of the Porsche Cayman Sprint Challenge will take place on April the 25th & 26th 2020.
